المستخلص: This paper aims to explain the role of the family and kindergarten in the process of children social development in early period of childhood and their preparation to schooling. This intended period can be realized by taking care of the child growth and child character development requirement and his/ her learning some positive social values in addition to important social behaviors and abilities that he needs in his life. Other influential family factors that affect the process of child growth and development were also explained, mainly the dominance of the father or mother on the process of the child up-bringing and the impact of the educational, economical and social status of the family, the number of the family members, sex of the child and age of the parents. Also the role of the family in fulfilling the child needs was examined specially in the area of love, psychological Security, self- steem and in preparation the appropriate cultural environment and in helping the child to build up his/her own Special and personal criteria together with its role in reahzing the needs of the child and its role in developing the child’ creativity. From other perspective the role of the kindergarten in the process of the child social development was explained through its effort in making available the essential requirements of children’ whole growth at the pre-school stage and their preparation to the primary level. However, the effort of the kindergarten concentrates in fosterin child’s independency and initiation and in reinforcing cooperative work among children through making the environment of the kindergarten similar to that of the family life more than the traditional school. Finally, the paper ends with a number of recommendations and practical suggestions.
