Three-Level Approach for Passage Retrieval in Arabic Question/Answering Systems

This paper describes a three-level approach for improving the Passage Retrieval (PR) stage in the context of the Arabic Question/Answering (Q/A) task. This approach proposes to use a semantic reasoning on top of keyword- based and structure-based levels. Results of experiments conducted with a set of CLEF and TRKC questions show an improvement of the Accuracy and the Mean Reciprocal Rank measures. An example shows also how the re-ranking based on the semantic score and Conceptual Graphs (CG) operations is even more relevant. |
