المستخلص: The Glorious Qur’an maintains the highest possible standard of rhetoric in its speech. Its importance has increased after ascending Qur'an in Arabic , which is characterized by eloquent systems to the extent that it is impossible to find its parallel in human works. Among the most important results of this miracle is the emergence of rhetoric. This rhetoric has multiple forms that scholars dealt with from different aspects including semantics, which deals with meaning and perform the intended meaning through the structure of words and the changes that occur within these structures . This is why this study addressed the part of this science that is Request (directive) Peformative Sentence including command, interrogative, wishing and invocation. I picked out all the forms from poetry of ten Mualaqat arriving at the most important purposes of metaphors that pointed out by these diverse styles and forms, and the devices appropriate for each style. The subject of Request (directive) Peformative Sentence is well-known to the grammarians and rhetoricians because it involves different styles, and what is involved in every style from a variety of forms and purposes, real and metaphorical. This research came to deal with such diverse styles and forms and their purposes and metaphors that come within the verses of Al- Mualaqat. Due to the nature of the subject that the thesis dealt with, the thesis was divided into three chapters in addition to preliminaries , conclusion and an introduction. The introduction included a brief statement of the division of speech in Arabic to constative and performative. I defined the constative linguistically and terminologically as well as stating its real and Metaphorical purposes, and this is the first part. In the second part, I talked about the poetry of Mualaqat . I defined it terminologically with the most prominent explanations and numbers of the most important poets as well mentioning the beginning of each and of literary and historical value.

The first chapter is of two parts. The first is on the command style defining it linguistically and terminologically by stating the views of famous grammarians and rhetoricians. The verses that include command style were mentioned as well as the most important rhetorical and metaphorical purposes behind using command style. The second section talked about prohibition. It was defined linguistically and terminologically. Then the prohibition form (Don’t do) was discussed in detail and the positions were such form are found in Al-Mualaqat were picked out. The second chapter was devoted to the interrogative style alone because of its capacity, and the abundance of scientific material. I stated the definition of the interrogative linguistically and terminologically and mentioned its devices. I explained the differences between them, then the features of each device were compared with the others. I picked out these devices from Al-Mualaqat stating the most important real and rhetorical purposes. The third chapter includeed the application of other methods (vocative, wishing offering ) and was divided into three sections: The first section included the vocative, defining it both linguistically and terminologically and stating its devices and presence in Al-Malaqat, as well as the most important real and metaphorical purposes. The second section included the style of wishing defining linguistically and terminologically and positions and presence in the ten Al-Mualaqat. The third section included offering and urging. Both were defined in terms of language and from terminological point of view , the difference between them and placements and the existence of such styles in the poetry of Ten Mualaqat. The most important difficulties that I faced during the writing of the thesis was the shortage of time , few explanations about Al-Mualaqat, difficulty of understanding the famous poets of Al-Mualaqat only through annotations and dictionaries, as well as security conditions that prevented my arrival to a lot of libraries at other universities. With God's help I was able to overcome these difficulties and I have sought hard to complete this humble research.
