This research was carried out at Nahr Atbra Province (Kassala State) to study the situation of camels in the province. The study was focused on camel’s numbers, types, its grazing areas, its socio-economic importance, its products and diseases. The study was done through a questionnaire (Primary data sources). Results were compared with official records (Secondary data sources). Results revealed that the exact camel number in the province is difficult to obtain due to interaction with flocks from other states. Also results showed that main camel types were Boshary, Anafi, Arabi and Rashaidy. Results pointed out the grate grazing facilities of the province. Camel products (milk, meat and hair) were used by the owners only. No epidemic diseases had been recorded in the last two decades, while the famous camel diseases were Trypanasomiasis and camel pox. The study showed the social and economic importance of camels in the province specially racing camels.
