|a This research represents a study on the scope of utilising spatially based hydrological models in the Grampians National Park (GNP), Victoria, Australia for track condition assessment. Overland water flow paths were extracted using Digital Elevation Model (DEM), and Arc Hydro tools. DEM needs to be corrected in order to utilise in hydrological modeling. Extracted overland flow paths then have been ordered based on stream ordering method. Ordered streams then considered in the areas overland flow path intersects with tracks and road networks. The results of analysis have shown that overland flow path in the most eastern part of the study area is draining in parallel with the major road, The Grampians Road. On the contrary, the western side and northern part of study area is encountered with relatively high ordered overland flow path. The high ordered streams are enough strong to damage the track and road infrastructure. Strong overland flow paths also can threaten safety.
