يتناول هذا البحث مسألة الالتزام في شعر الشاعر العباسي مروان بن أبي حفصة ودراسة هذا الالتزام من خلال بناء القصيدة لديه , ويتكون البحث من مقدمة ومدخل وأربعة محاور هي المطلع والمقدمة وحسن التخلص والخاتمة . وفي المقدمة تحدثت عن مفهوم الالتزام لغة واصطلاحاً وأنواعه وارتباطه بغرض المديح , وبينت التزام الشاعر بالسلطة السياسية والدفاع عن مواقفها . أما المطلع فكان موجّها للحديث عن أهمية المطلع وشروطه ومناسبته للأحوال والمقامات والتزام الشاعر بالمطلع , وفي محور المقدمة تناولت أهم المقدمات التي وردت في شعر مروان , وفي حسن التخلص درست موقف الشاعر من هذه القضية وكيف خرج في بعض المواقف عن هذا الأمر وفي الخاتمة كان الحديث منصباً حول أهميتها في عرف النقاد القدامى وذكرنا التزام الشاعر في خواتيمه بمعايير النقاد القدامى . وأخيراً في خاتمة البحث تحدثت عن أبرز النتائج التي توصلت إليها .
