المستخلص: The author underscores the main factors that brought important changes into the ways and means operated by Egyptian authorities in their efforts concerning drug Combat along the last century. These factors include: -Interval events; e.g first and second world wars, French, British and Israeli war against Egypt in 1956... etc. -Regional events; e.g . the 1967 Israeli - Egyptian war, Israeli- Lebanese wars... etc. -The holding of international conventions and drafting treaties by UN and other in¬ternational organizations. -The emerge of pharmaceutial psychotropic drugs in the early fifties (First appear¬ance on the drug menu in the local market around the early seventies). -Local Factors; e. g. establishing the Information “Bureau for narcotics” in 1928 later becoming the “General administration for combatting narcotics”, the passing of relevant laws in 1928, 1951, 1953, 1960, 1966 and 1988. -Some famous court cases sufficiently detailed in annual reports issued regularly by the general administration. -The factors are discussed in sufficient detail to shed light on the role played by each one in determining the different ways and means in combatting illegal drugs in Egypt throughout the last century.
