520 |b With the spread of modern communication technologies and the growing number of web-based information applications, new types of journalism have emerged as well as change in the parameters of implications of the media industry in terms of the nature of contributors, forms and exchange mediums. \ The introduction of online information sharing and the formation of its virtual society, some 20 years back, has helped to attract tens of millions of people into social groupings from all over the globe towards convergence, knowledge sharing as well building of friendships. It also helped in the formulation of pressure groups that interact and communicate remotely through computer screens and e-mail via the “Internet”, just as what happens in the real world. On-line communication has also contributed to the virtual formation movements. \ As we derive a new title from within the virtual world against the background of technological and technical advancements in the media, and what is commonly known as Social Media or social networks is simply websites that have attracted the interest of many researchers who are specialized in the political, social and cultural impact of the pervasiveness of these networks among communities and political systems striving to break down many of cumulative restrictions in order to realize democracy and intellectual freedom, that is the subject of our study. \ The emergence of the “people’s media” has led to a change of perceptions towards replacing the term “ traditional audience” with “the users”. This new type of media directly relates the users involved in reporting, commenting and analyzing the events in a manner departs the previously known classic approaches. This requires continuous follow up, reading, observing and more or less a real time interaction, gathering, compilation and dissemination of information via the social networks in the form of news stories, reports, image and documents. This new method allows for comments in an interactive manner. The new change of the media environment has outlined the difference between the term usage and that of reception in view of the compound relationship between users with the modern media. These new transitions have generated by remarkable developments in information technology and have contributed to weakening the single-party monopoly of the media, spread of various sources of information, the freedom of media production as well as the collapse of the gatekeeper authority with particular attention to news editing and expansion of the circle of users’ options of information gathering, editing and dissemination of news stories.
