اشتمل البحث على مقدمة، وتمهيد، وثلاثة مباحث، وخاتمة، فالفهارس الفنية. ذكرت في المقدمة خطة البحث، ومنهجه. كان التمهيد نصوص الأدعية، وتخريجها؛ حيث ذكرت فيه نصوص الأحاديث المشتملة على الأدعية، وأماكن ورودها من دواوين السنة، مع الحكم عليها ببيان درجتها حسب ما هو مقرر في قواعد علماء الحديث. في حين جاء المبحث الأول بعنوان: الفنون البلاغية في أدعية الاستفتاح، وأسرارها البلاغية. وهو ما ذكرت فيه ما ورد في هذه الأدعية من الفنون البلاغية التي بحثها العلماء في علوم البلاغة الثلاثة (المعاني، والبيان، والبديع). متحدثاً عن الأسرار البلاغية التي تميزت بها أدعية الاستفتاح، وقد ذكرت فيه ما ورد في هذه الأدعية من الأسرار التي تميزت بها أدعية الاستفتاح؛ لخصوصية موقعها من حيث البدء بها في الركن الثاني من أركان الإسلام. وأما المبحث الثاني فقد جاء بعنوان: مقامات الأدعية وأثرها في التشكيل البلاغي، هو ما حرصت فيه على النظر في الأسرار البلاغية لهذه الأدعية، ونُكتها، وأثرها في الأسلوب والمعنى. ثم ختمت بخاتمة البحث، وهي ما بينت فيها أبرز نتائج البحث، مع الإشارة إلى توصيات عامة أوصى بها الباحث. وقفيت ذلك بذكر ثبت المصادر والمراجع. وقد قام هذا البحث على المنهج الوصفي التحليلي.
