إن منطقة الخليج العربي تعيش وضعًا أمنيًّا معقدًا، لتداخل الأبعاد المحلية والإقليمية والعالمية فيه، وأي حدث أو تغير في واحد من تلك الأبعاد يؤثر على الأمن الخليجي، واليوم، تعيش منطقة الخليج أزمة أمنية حقيقية ذات محاور متعددة بدءًا بنتائج التغيير الذي حصل في العراق على أثر الاحتلال الأمريكي منذ العام 2003، ووصولًا إلى التدخلات التي تمارسها بعض القوى الإقليمية في المنطقة، وتحديد إيران على وفق سياسات مقصودة لإحكام سيطرتها على المنطقة، وما تبعها من تفاهمات إقليمية ما بين اتفاق وتعارض فيما بينها وبين الولايات المتحدة التي تتواجد عسكريًّا واقتصاديًّا وسياسيًّا في المنطقة، إذ باتت الأزمة التي يعيشها الإقليم تؤثر في واقعه ومستقبله. كما أن الشأن الخليجي سيبقى قلقًا ولا ينفصل عن الشأن العراقي بسبب هذا القلق الذي يساور دول المجلس حول تدخل إيران بالشأن العراقي، ولما كان العراق ولا يزال يمثل عمقًا خليجيًّا، وهو ما يعني أن إيران يمكنها أن تختصر نفوذها إلى الداخل الخليجي عبر بوابة العراق بعد أن تتمكن من السيطرة على العقل السياسي للسلطة والملف الأمني العراقي. وهذه مجرد البداية لمعضلة حقيقية تواجه الأمن الإقليمي الخليجي مع استمرار تداعيات الأحداث في العراق بعد الانسحاب، وما يمكن أن تسفر عنه التفاهمات الأمريكية – الإيرانية حول دور إيران الإقليمي المرتقب في ظل توازنات جديدة يمكن أن تضم مجموعة أطراف تشكل بمجملها منظومة الأمن الإقليمي الخليجي وهي جزء من منظومة أمن شاملة لعموم منطقة الشرق الأوسط.
Gulf region is in complex security position ,for overlapping of local , regional and global dimensions, and what an event or change in one of these dimensions may affect with the security of the Gulf . Today, the Gulf area lives in a real security crisis with several axes starting with the results of the change that happened in Iraq following the U.S. occupation since 2003 , and through to interventions practiced by some regional powers in the region , particularly Iran, in accordance with the policies intended to tighten control over the area , and the subsequent regional understandings between the agreement and discrepancies between them and the United States that resides militarily, economically and politically in the region , which makes the crisis in the region affect its reality and future. As well as the effect of the Gulf will remain a concern not to be separated from the issue of Iraq because of the concern of the GCC countries about Iran's interference in Iraqi affairs , and since Iraq was and remains a deep Gulf, which means that Iran can shorten its influence to the interior of the Gulf through the gate of Iraq after its control the mind of the political authority and the Iraqi security file. This is just the beginning of a real dilemma facing the regional security of the Gulf with the continuing repercussions of the events in Iraq after the withdrawal , and what could result from the understandings of American - Iranian about the anticipated regional of Iran in light of the balances that include group parties to form a whole system of regional security of the Gulf which is a part of the a comprehensive security system for the general area of the Middle East.
