المستخلص: يهدف هذا البحث للتعرف على مفهوم العدالة ومدى إرتباطها بالجانب الأخلاقي والسياسي، وذلك من خلال دراسة تحليلية نقدية لمحاورة الجمهورية لأفلاطون، ووالتعرف على أفكار و أراء أفلاطون حول مفهوم العدالة وخاصة أن محاور الجمهورية والتي تعتبر موسوعة شاملة، قد أفرد فيها أفلاطون رؤية متكاملة في تحديد مفهوم العدالة، حيث قد أخص الكتاب الأول والثاني وكذلك الثالث لمناقشة مفهوم العدالة، وشرحها، وتحدث في الكتاب الرابع عن الحراس وواجباتهم ثم تطرق أيضاً الى مفهوم العدالة، ولا سيما أن أفلاطون تميز عن غيره من الفلاسفة بتناوله لمفهوم العدالة في المجتمع من الجانب الأخلاقي والجانب السياسي، كما تهدف الدراسة إلى تسليط الضؤ على رأي أفلاطون فيما توصل إليه حول مفهوم العدالة من أهميتها ودورها في إستقرار المجتمع ولم يقف أفلاطون عند ذلك، بل يرى أن العقل هو معيار وجود المدينة الفاضلة العادلة، والإنسان الفاضل العادل، ومن غير وجود العقل لا يمكن أن توجد المدينة الفاضلة والعادلة،كما أن العدالة لا يمكن أن تتحقق في المجتمع إلا بهيمنة وسيطرة طبقة الحكام وهم الفلاسفة، وان تقوم كل طبقة بوظيفتها الخاصة دون تدخل في شئون الطبقات الأخرى، بهذا تتحقق العدالة في نظر أفلاطون.

This study seeks acquaintance with the concept of justice and the extent of its correlation with the moral and political aspect. That will be undertaken via an analytical critical study of the dialogues of Plato’s “Republic” and via an acquaintance with the thoughts and opinions of Plato concerning the concept of justice. That is particularly as the dialogues of the “Republic” are considered to represent a comprehensive encyclopedia. Plato dedicated, within them, a comprehensive vision in respect to defining the concept of justice, in the case where he specified the first, second and also the third book to discussing the concept of justice and explaining it. In the fourth book he talked about the guardians and their obligations and hence also broached upon the concept of justice. That is particularly as Plato was distinguished from other philosophers due to dealing with the concept of justice within the society from a moral perspective and political one.
The study also aims to shed light upon Plato’s opinion in respect to his conclusion about the concept of justice in respect to its significance and role in relation to the stability of the society. Plato did not stop at that, rather he viewed that the mind represents the standard or measure for the existence of the just and virtuous city and for the just and virtuous person. And that in the absence of the mind it is not possible to establish a just and virtuous city, just as justice cannot be realized or accomplished within the society except through the dominance and control of the class of rulers and these are the philosophers. Each class fulfils its specific role without interfering in the affairs of other classes and through that, justice is achieved, according to Plato.
