هدف المقال إلى تقديم ملاحظات عن المؤتمر الذي تم انعقاده بعنوان (تحديات المسيحيين العرب). ومن هذه الملاحظات، أولاً تناول المؤتمر أسباب هذه التحديات، والتي شملت القلق والعنف والتمييز والتطرف وتزييف الدين والإكراه والشعور بالاستهداف والاضطهاد والخوف والفزع وإسقاط قيم حرية الدين والعبادة وحرية التعبير. ثانياً لم يتطرق المؤتمرون لأسباب تحديات المسيحية التي عدّدوا أعراضها بشمول، بل اكتفوا بإشارات سريعة غير شاملة وغير عميقة أو جدية. ثالثاً أشار المؤرخ المرجع ألبرت حوراني إن المسيحيين في الهلال الخصيب ومصر شكلوا ٩٠ بالمئة من مجموع السكان عندما انتقلت الدولة من دمشق الأمويين إلى بغداد العباسيين عام ٧٥٠ م، وإن تراجع نسبتهم في تلك البلاد من ٩٠ بالمئة إلى ٥٠ بالمئة استغرق قرنين ونصف القرن بعد ذلك. رابعاً أشارت إلى أن بعد انتصار الثورة الإيرانية عام 1979 وإصرارها على تحقيق السيادة الكاملة في بلادها مع ما يستتبع ذلك على مستوي العلاقة مع الغرب الذي استعمرها لأكثر من قرن، فضلاً عن تمسك الثورة الإيرانية بحقوق الشعب الفلسطيني، أصبحت الفتنة السنية الشيعية هدفاً استراتيجيا وسلاحاً يستخدمه الغرب وبخاصة إسرائيل. خامساً تطرق المؤتمرون إلى الروابط بين مسيحي الشرق الأوسط والغرب بحيث يجب ألا تكون حجة للبعض لربط مسيحي الشرق بسياسات الغرب ومصالحه. وأختتم المؤتمر بأنه لم يعطي المؤتمرون اهتماماً لظاهرة التفكير والعنف والإرهاب التي تعاظم حضورها ودورها في الحياة العامة للوطن العربي في العقود الثلاثة الأخيرة. ولايخفي دور الغرب والكثير من الأنظمة العربية التابعة له في هذه الظاهرة التي تعبئ الشبان السذَّج عقائدياً ضد المسيحيين، ومرة أخرى يكمن أمن المسيحيين العرب وحمايتهم من الاستهداف التكفيري في تأكيد الانتماء الشعبي والحذر من ردود الفعل الطائفية على ما يصيبهم من عنف.كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The aim of the article was to provide feedback on the conference, which was held under the title (challenges of the Arab Christians). Among these observations, the Conference first addressed the causes of these challenges, which included anxiety, violence, discrimination, extremism, the falsification of religion, coercion, feelings of persecution, fear, terror and undermining the values of freedom of religion, worship and freedom of expression. Secondly, the participants did not address the reasons for the challenges of Christianity, which presented their manifestations comprehensively, but only made quick mentions that are not comprehensive, deep or serious. Thirdly, the Historian Albert Hourani pointed out that the Christians in the Fertile Crescent and Egypt formed 90 percent of the total population when the state moved from Damascus of the Umayyad to the Abbasid Baghdad in 750 AD, and that their decline in that country from 90 percent to 50 percent took two and a half centuries later. Fourthly, it pointed that after the victory of the Iranian revolution in 1979 and its insistence on achieving full sovereignty in its country with the consequent level of relations with the West, which colonized it for more than a century, as well as the Iranian Revolution's adherence to the rights of the Palestinian people, the Sunni-Shiite strife became a strategic target and weapon used by the West, and especially Israel. Fifth, the participants touched upon the links between the Christians of the Middle East and the West so that they should not be an excuse for some to connect the Christians of the East with Western policies and its interests. The conference concluded that it did not give much attention to the phenomenon of reflection, violence and terrorism, which has increased its presence and role in the public life of the Arab world in the last three decades. Furthermore, the role of the West and many of affiliated Arab regimes is no secret in this phenomenon, which mobilizes naive youth ideologically against Christians. Once again, the security of the Arab Christians and protecting them from Takfiri targeting lies in confirming the popular affiliation and taking caution from sectarian reactions to violence..This abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2018
