The United States depended on number of mechanisms to reinforce its strategic interests and building peace and stability in the region according to its point of view to Africa generally, and in the Sahel and Sahara specifically. Among these mechanisms: strategic partnership, military bases, establishing African force to combat terrorism, Pan Sahel or Trans Sahara programs, the western security partnership with the NATO, establishing AFRICOM (the American Africa command), reinforcing the role of NATO in the region, and establishing a Task Force for North Africa. To face the Euro-American competition on the Maghreb region, we must build an African security approach to this region, in from of the international approach that intends to impose its hegemony on the states of the region and seizing its wealth. We should also support the initiatives that aims to solidify dialogue and increasing the ability of local communities to face terrorism and resisting it, and make coordinated efforts to achieve comprehensive development, especially as we live in the era of the giant economic unions and bodies, in which the small and distracted states lose its weight, and become a mere dependent and satellite states in the international relations affected by its negative reflections
