تم في هذا البحث التعرف على القيم الجمالية والوظيفية للون ومدى الاستفادة منها في تصاميم أقمشة الحياكة (التريكو)، استند هذا البحث على (6) نماذج تصميمية تم فيها دراسة تحليلية وصفية للنماذج بالعلاقة مع ألوانها والاستخدام الوظيفي لها للتعرف على بعض المجالات التي يمكن من خلالها تحقيق معطيات للون في تصاميم أقمشة الحياكة ذات الاستخدام الوظيفي المتنوع في المجال التقني والمجال النفسي والمجال الجمالي، كما تم دراسة الحياكة الآلية وتقنيتها ومفهوم اللون فيها وبيان نظريات الانسجام والتضاد اللوني، والتعرف على فلسفة اللون بتوضيح علاقة الألوان بعناصر التشكيل في الفضاء وتأثيراتها النفسية المختلفة لعدد من الأنواع المختلفة والمتنوعة من الأقمشة، وأيضا تحديد أهم الاعتبارات والخطوات الواجب مراعاتها عند دراسة أي منظومة لونية على سطح أي قماش مهما كان نوع خامته واستخدامه لتحقيق البعدين الوظيفي والبعد والجمالي من خلال الإطار النظري.
