المستخلص: تُعد مؤسسة الطلبة، مؤسسة دينية سياسية لاقت الأهمية الكبرى في دولة الموحدين، والتي تشكلت بفضل دُعاة هذه المؤسسة التي تبنت أفكار مؤسسها محمد بن تومرت وبعدهُ عبد المؤمن بن علي التي أولاها الأهمية من أجل تأسيس حزب مثقف ناضج يدين أعضاءه بالولاء والطاعة لشخصه ولدولته ليستعين بهم وليأتمرون بأمره فيندبهم للقيام بمهام ثقافية وإدارية وعسكرية، إذ أن مناهج هذه المؤسسة لم تقتصر على العلوم الدينية فقط وإنما تعدتها لتشمل كافة العلوم العربية وآدابها والعلوم الرياضية والعسكرية، وقد لاقت مؤسسة الطلبة الكثيرة من الاهتمام من قبل الخلفاء الموحدين لغرض تحسين أحوال أفرادها المعيشية وذلك بتقديمهم المنح المجانية وتأمين فرص العمل المناسبة لكل منهم وفق إمكانياته وقدراته الشخصية، إذ تم تعيينهم في مراكز الدولة المرموقة وبلغ نفوذهم شأناً عظيماً لدى الخلفاء الموحدين، حتى فاقت منزلتهم ما كان يقدمه الخلفاء للأطباء والمهندسين والكتاب عن خدماتهم الجليلة للدولة، لذلك حرصت هذه المؤسسة في الحفاظ على امتيازاتها ونفوذها في الدولة عن طريق مجابهة كل من لم يكن على رأيهم من المفكرين والفلاسفة بإثارة العامة من الناس ضدهم، وقد كان من شروط الانتساب لهذه المؤسسة هي تقارب السن الذي يقضي باختيار الطلبة المتقاربين في الأعمار لوضعهم في شعب خاصة وضمن مستويات متعددة في جميع المعاهد التي قاموا بإنشائها، والأهلية العلمية والاجتماعية للتأكد من قدرات الطلبة العلمية والجسدية على إكمال الدراسة.
