المستخلص: The conflict around water and water resources is a new phenomenon and not an old crisis. This can be attributed to the development of technology in using water, in addition to an increase in the world population which necessitates securing food for them. Man has now full control over water and its various uses. New problems which did not exist before started to appear. In spite of the agreements signed by the countries that lie around the Nile valley, the conflict around water is a source of unrest for these countries. Eleven countries were drawn to a cold war for sharing the water resources. Most probably this war may lead to a conflict due to the increase in population the increase in the cultivated areas and the need for irrigation. In addition to this, there are other problems connected with the water of the Nile e.g. pollution, evaporation, extravagant use of water. The probability of conflicts between the countries of the Nile valley should not be ignored. These countries suffer from political, economical, social, and developmental problems.
