: ركز هذا البحث على إبراز جهود البارون اليهودي موريس دي هيرش في تخفيف معاناة اليهود في شرق أوروبا وروسيا من خلال تحسين أحوال معيشتهم أولا. ثم تطـورت رؤيتـه إلـى ضرورة إخراجهم من أماكن سكناهم ثم نقلهم إلى أماكن جديدة؛ للعمل فيها مزارعين ورعاة على أن يكونوا جزءا من سكان البلاد. ومن أجل ذلك؛ أسس البارون شركة الاستيطان اليهوديـة؛ لمتابعـة تهجير اليهود وتدريبهم في أماكن سكناهم الجديدة. وخصص هيرش وقته وماله لإنجاح فكرته علـى الصعيد الفكري والعملي، وما ترتب على ذلك من صدام مع القوى الصهيونية الفاعلة في الشـارع اليهودي، تلك القوى التي ربطت بين حل المسألة اليهودية وعودة اليهود إلى فلسطين فقـط. ولكـن هيرش تجاوز ذلك، ورأى أن الحلم اليهودي لا يرتبط بفلسطين (فقط) علـى الـرغم مـن إقـراره بقدسيتها. وبالرغم من ارتباط اسم البارون هيرش بمشروع توطين اليهود بالأرجنتين، إلا انه بعـث مجموعات من اليهود إلى الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية وكندا أيضا.
This research focuses on the efforts of the Jewish Baron Maurice de Hirsch to alleviate the Jewish suffering in Eastern Europe and Russia, by improving their standards of living, and then his vision developed as he found it necessary to make them migrate from their residence and refuge to other countries where they worked as farmers and shepherds, and became citizens of these new countries. For this purpose Hirsch established the Jewish colonization company which followed up with the migration process and with training the Jews to integrate in new communities. Hirsch devoted his time and wealth to make his project succeed on the intellectual and the practical levels, and to deal with the consequences of his ideas. Most important of these consequences was confronting the active Zionist fronts, which linked the solution of the Jewish problem with returning to Palestine. Hirsch exceeded the limits and believed that the Jewish dream was not linked only with Palestine in spite of his concession of its holiness.
