|b The magistrates of Tunisian courts and the administration during the era of French colonialism \ This study is an investigation about the relationships between the French colonial administration and the Tunisian magistrates. Did it respect their independence or subdued them to its interests ?. The personal files of those magistrates make up an unavoidable source to answer that question. Those files allow us to know whether some magistrates were involved in anti¬colonial activities, whether they accepted the French control entrusted to commissioners of the government with French origins and whether they were well graded by their superiors. \

Respecte-t- elle leur indépendance ou bien les subordonne t-elle à sa volonté? \ Les dossiers personnels des magistrats constituent une source incontournable pour répondre à cette question. Ils permettent de connaître si des magistrats se sont impliqués dans les activités anticoloniales, s’ils acceptent le contrôle français confié aux commissaires du gouvernement d’origine française et s’ils sont bien notés par leurs supérieurs. \
