تقدم الدراسة استعراضا تفصيليا لأهم المراحل التاريخية التي مرت بها الحركة الإسلامية داخل فلسطين المحتلة عام 1948 بين عامي 1971-2004، بعد أن باتت تمثل نموذجا حيا لمواجهة الفلسطينيين لآلة الحكم الإسرائيلي، التي بذلت جهودا حثيثة لتذويب عرب الـ48 ضـمن الرؤيـة الإسرائيلية، وسلخ أي ارتباط لهم بجذورهم العربية والإسلامية. وتسعى الدراسة لإبراز أهم التحديات التي واجهت الحركة، داخلية وخارجية، فكرية وسياسية وأمنية وإعلامية، من خلال اختبار قدرتها على التغلب عليها، ومحاولة تجاوزها، فض لا عن الجانب الأهلي والنشاط الجمعياتي الذي قامت به، ودوره في التخفيف من معاناة الفلسطينيين من جهة، ومن جهـة أخرى أثره في استقطاب الأنصار إلى صفوف الحركة. كما تتناول الدراسة التحول التاريخي الذي مرت به الحركة من خلال حالة الانشقاق التنظيمي، بفعل الخلاف الواقع بين أقطابها وقياداتها السياسية والميدانية، لاسيما حول المشاركة فـي الانتخابـات البرلمانية للكنيست الإسرائيلي. وتختتم الدراسة بالحديث عن العلاقة المتوترة بين الحركة والسلطات الإسرائيلية، خاصة في ضوء ملاحقتها المتواصلة ومطاردتها الدائمة، بعد الإدراك الإسرائيلي لطبيعة الدور الـذي قامـت بـه الحركة، ومحافظتها على الهوية الوطنية للشعب الفلسطيني.
The study provides a detailed overview of the most important historical stages through which the Islamic movement inside the occupied Palestine in 1948, between 1971-2004, having come to represent a vivid example of the face of the Palestinians to machine Israeli rule, which has made strenuous efforts to dissolve the Arabs of the 48 within the Israeli vision, and pick off any link to them Arab and Islamic roots. The study seeks to highlight the most important challenges faced by the movement there, both internal and external, intellectual, political, security and media, by testing their ability to overcome them, and try to overcome, as well as the civil and activity associative done, and its role in alleviating the suffering of the Palestinians on the one hand, and On the other hand its effect in attracting supporters to the ranks of the movement. The study deals with the historic transformation experienced by the movement during a state of organizational dissent, by the actual difference between its prominent leaders and political leaders and field, especially on participation in the parliamentary elections for the Israeli Knesset. The study concludes by talking about the strained relationship between the movement and the Israeli authorities, especially in light of the continuing prosecution and pursuit of permanent, after the Israeli perception of the nature of the role played by the movement, and maintaining the national identity of the Palestinian people
