تعتبر فلسطين من أهم مناطق الجذب السياحي على المستوى العالمي، نظراً لما تتميز به من خصائص طبيعية وبشرية تعتبر بمثابة عوامل جاذبة للنشاط السياحي، خاصة ما يتعلق منها بالسياحة الدينية التي تعتبر من أهم أنماط السياحة في فلسطين بما في ذلك منطقة الدراسة. ويحتل القطاع السياحي ركناً أساسياً في الاقتصاد الفلسطيني نظراً لكون فلسطين غنية بالموارد السياحية الجاذبة لشرائح كبيرة من السياح على اختلاف جنسياتهم ومذاهبهم. ونظراً لأهمية القطاع الفندقي وتأثيره على البيئة تتجه معظم الفنادق العالمية مؤخراً نحو تبني شعار "الفنادق الخضراء"، وهو أحد الاتجاهات الحديثة في السياحة البيئية. ولذلك غدت السياحة المستدامة منهجاً وأسلوباً تقوم عليه العديد من المؤسسات السياحية العالمية، وعلى غير ما يعتقد الكثير فإن تطبيق مفهوم السياحة المستدامة لا يعد مكلفاً من الناحية المالية، فله عائده المعنوي والمادي، ويعود بالربح والفائدة على المؤسسات السياحية. وتهدف هذه الدراسة الى التعرف على مدى التزام الفنادق الفلسطينية في قطاع غزة بالممارسات الصديقة للبيئة، وتعزيز الوعي البيئي لدى صناع القرار والعاملين في القطاع الفندقي لتطبيق الممارسات البيئية الخضراء في الفنادق في قطاع غزة. واستخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي الذي يحاول من خلالها وصف الظاهرة موضوع الدراسة وتحليل بياناتها وبيان العلاقة بين مكوناتها والآراء التي تطرح حولها والعمليات التي تتضمنها والآثار التي تحدثها.
Palestine is considered one of the most important tourist attractions on a global level. This is mainly because of its characteristic properties both in the natural and human aspects, which serve as a tourism attracting activity, especially when it comes to religious tourism which is one of the most important patterns of tourism in Palestine, the study area included. The tourism sector occupies a cornerstone in the Palestinian economy due to the fact that Palestine is rich in tourism attracting resources which appeal to a large segments of tourists of different nationalities and ethnicities. Given the importance of the hotel sector and its impact on the environment, most of the hotels around the world have recently adopted the slogan "green hotels". This is one of the recent trends in Eco-tourism. Therefore, the sustainable tourism approach has become a method many of the global tourism enterprises are dependent on. Contrary to what many may believe, the application of the concept of sustainable tourism is not costly in financial terms; in fact, it may be the cause of both moral and material profit which in and of itself will profit tourism organizations. This study aims to identify the extent of the commitment found among the Palestinian hotels in Gaza Strip to be Eco-friendly, as well as to promote environmental awareness among decision-makers and workers in the hotel sector to enforce the application of environmental practices in hotels in Gaza Strip. The study used the descriptive analytical approach that tries to describe the phenomenon which is the subject of the study, analyze the data, and clarify the relationship between the components and the views that arise around, the operations that are included, and the effects cause by the study
