انطلقت هذه الدراسة من هدف رئيسي يتمثل في دراسة وتحليل العلاقة بين الدور الاجتماعي للدولة وتنامي ثقافة الإضراب في المجتمع المصري، من خلال القيام بدراسة ميدانية على عينة عمدية بالحصة من بعض الشرائح الاجتماعية لمعرفة رؤيتها للعلاقة بين الدور الاجتماعي للدولة وتنامي ثقافة الإضراب في المجتمع المصري. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة استعان الباحث بالأساليب المنهجية التالية انطلاقا من مبدأ المرونة المنهجية: 1- الأسلوب الوصفي التحليلي لوصف وتحليل رؤية أفراد العينة للعلاقة بين الدور الاجتماعي للدولة وتنامي ثقافة الإضراب في المجتمع المصري. 2- الأسلوب الإحصائي لعرض وتحليل نتائج الدراسة. واعتمدت الدراسة في جمع البيانات بصورة أساسية على استمارة المقابلة المقننة، وتم تطبيق الدراسة الميدانية على عينة عمدية بالحصة قوامها (250) مفردة من بعض الشرائح الاجتماعية. وكان من أهم نتائج الدراسة أن أسباب قيام الأفراد بإضرابات تتعدد وتتنوع ويأتي في مقدمتها تراجع الدور الاجتماعي للدولة وارتفاع أسعار السلع والخدمات وانتشار الفساد السياسي، الأمر الذي يعكس فشل السياسات الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي اتبعها نظام مبارك السابق في تحقيق تنمية حقيقية للمجتمع المصري. كما تتعدد الآثار الإيجابية والسلبية لانتشار ثقافة الإضراب في المجتمع المصري، ولكن محصلتها النهائية على أوضاع الاقتصاد والمجتمع المصري سلبية بصفة عامة.
