من القضايا التي كثر الخلاف فيها بين أهل العلم؛ قضية الجمع بين الصلوات فـي الحـضر بعذر المطر تقديما. ولقد انتشرت هذه الظاهرة انتشارا كبيرا بين الناس، واشتد خلافهم فيها، بين مؤيد ومعترض. ثم لما كان الأمر متعلقا بأهم ركن في الإسلام بعد الشهادتين؛ رأى الباحث حاجة ماسة للكتابة في هذا الشأن، وخاصة من الناحية الحديثية النقدية الدقيقة. فقام الباحث بجمع ما وقف عليه من أدلة حديثية ونقدها وفق مناهج المحدثين، مستعرضا آراء المذاهب الفقهية وأدلتها، التي انحصرت في ثلاثة اتجاهات: الاتجاه الذي يرى جواز الجمع بعذر المطر تقديما بين الظهـر والعـصر، وبـين المغـرب والعشاء، بشروط، وهم الشافعية. والاتجاه الذي يحصر ذلك في الجمع بين المغرب والعشاء، وهم المالكية والحنابلة. والاتجاه الذي يمنع ذلك مطلقا. أما التوسع والتساهل الذي يفعله بعض الناس قلم يجد الباحث له أصلا. وقد خلص الباحث إلى أنه لم يصح حديث صريح في الجمع في الحضر بعذر المطر تقديما.
