A brief historical sketch of the Ruling Dynasty of Bahrain:- One who investigates the history of Bahrain will discover that it was the Al Khalifa family, which ruled over Bahrain ever- since its liberation from foreign influence in the year 1783 at hands if Shaikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al Khalifa. Hence, it is necessary that we trace its original home, its tribal relationships and the reason for its migration from its original home and its timing. The Al Khalifa family, were originally from Nejd from an area known as Al Hadar and Al Aflaj near the Wadi al Dawsir, an area rich in date- palm and other land- based trees such as button- bushm acacia, lote- tree and gum. One of its important towns was Lyla which was situated at a distance of 330 km. from Riyadh and 525 km. from Bahrain. |
