المستخلص: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) development projects are long, complex, and highly risky. It is necessary for researchers and practitioners to develop ways to understand this process better. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to present a Process Phase Model, in an attempt to describe and explain how organizational transformation unfolds over time as a result of the ERP development process. The research was conducted not by specifying an a priori theoretical point of view, but by letting the theoretical content of the investigation process become evident during the course of data analysis. The model was developed by dividing the long project period first into three major phases- before, during, and after ERP implementation- and subsequently into twelve interrelated sub-phases. The research conclusion emerges from a detailed analysis of an interpretive longitudinal case study of one of the first petrochemical companies to implement an ERP system in Saudi Arabia.
