المستخلص: Large numbers of organizations are taking great interest in the idea of knowledge management and some of them are launching knowledge management initiatives and programs. A part of proportion of such initiatives will fail. Yet, despite the injunctions to “learn from failures”, little details attention has been paid to why and how these apparently popular initiatives run into difficulties, arguing that its focus on IT-based tools limits its potential for encouraging the knowledge sharing that is crucial to interactive innovation processes. Interactive innovation processes depend on the integration-of knowledge across disparate social communities and require the exploration (creation) of knowledge, rather than simply the improved exploration knowledge. This research discusses the NEPCO (national electric power company) as a case study and tries to show how knowledge management interacts and influence the decision-making.
