المستخلص: This paper presents Aghili 2009 framework to improve the quality of internal auditing process, and in return to improve the quality of internal controls. This framework incorporated the phases of six sigma (DMAIC) methodology into phases of internal auditing process, as a way to improve the quality of internal controls. This framework has not been considered or studied by any researcher until now. The authors conducted a SWOT analysis of this framework. This resulted in that this framework has many points of strength and few weaknesses. Furthermore, few opportunities can be captured from it and normal threats can appear, as the threats that can appear from any other new initiative. Consequently, it seems that this framework is a good one and needs further research.
