This study considers the determinants of economic growth and the role played by the stock market in Egypt’s economic growth. The methodology that is followed here is based on the production function as an operational analytical tool. Traditional factors of production are given special priority in explaining economic growth in Egypt. Results suggest that, on aggregate, stock market had significant positive impact on economic growth in Egypt over the period 1999-2008. |
