The purpose of the study is to explore the gaps between the actual and desired managerial and the relationship between these gaps and multiple indicators of organization performance . The study identified the managerial competencies to be four groups; namely managing oneself to achieve results, managing others to achieve results, planning the achievement of results and using intellect to achieve results. The study used seven indicators of organization performance. The data were collected from 19 Kuwaiti organizations. The findings of the study indicate that the major gaps between the actual and desired competencies are related to ability to manage his/her time .stimulating motivation in others .ability to see the whole picture, setting clear objectives and ability to resolve conflict. The competencies gaps were negatively associated with explained significant portions of the variance in the organization performance indicators. The implications, I limitations and the future research directions are discussed.
