The objective of this paper is to assess whether three variables, namely the degree of inequality in the distribution of income, the degree of corruption in an economy and the degree of economic freedom can significantly affect economic growth The paper uses cross sectional econometric analysis from about one hundred countries to test the causal relationship between these three determinants and economic growth In addition, the paper assesses the relative importance of these variables in the developed countries compared to the less developed regions of Latin America and Africa The results indicate that improvements in the three variables are vital to economic growth
