This article presents an attempt to identify the factors that influence the choice of a research methodology. We reviewed theoretical and empirical literature, which either implicitly or explicitly identified factors that influence the choice of a specific methodology. The researchers identified two mam categories: (i) factors related to the researcher, and (ii) and factors related to the research. Accordingly a conceptual framework of research-related factors was developed to provide a guide for researchers to choose their methodology within misleading theories. |
