إن المعري بما عرف عنه من حس مرهف وفطنة حادة وعقل موهوب قل نظيره لم تقف حاسة فقدان البصر عائقاً في وجه شاعرنا فعلى الرغم من انه لم يدرك الكواكب والنجوم إلا انه قد اخرج لنا بفعل بصيرته النافذة وذكائه الحاد صوراً بديعة في إظهار أوجه الشبه وإبراز الدلالات والإيحاءات والرموز التي يريد إيصالها للمتلقي. إذ جعل منها مجالاً للتحدي والمنافسة وأثبات للشاعرية ولاسيما أغراض الوصف والمدح والغزل والرثاء والفخر. أما المبحث الثاني فقد خصصته لبيان وجهة المعري النفسية وعرض روحه المضطربة فضلا عن بيان فلسفته ومعتقداته وآرائه تجاه الحياة والمجتمع ضمن الجانب الفلسفي كما عرض مضامين حكم ومواعظ من خلال الزهد والتدبر في شؤون الكون وان كل شيء زائل إلا سبحانه وتعالى. فكانت النجوم والكواكب عنوان ومواطن استلهام في الكشف عن شاعرية المعري وتجربة حياته والتي ضمنها في ديوانيه سقط الزند واللزوميات.
A Ma'ari is Known for his tenderness in sensations , sharp wittiness , and talented mind . Blindness could not be an obstacle that might face our poet. In spite of his disability in recognizing the planet and stars . He manages to create magnificent pictures using his powerful insight and strong intelligence to show us the similarities . highlighting the evidences , gestures and symbol that he wants his readers to reach . He makes them fields to challenge , compete and prove his romanticism , especially in his intention in description, praise, courtship , pride , and lamentation . The second chapter shows the psychological aspect of Al Ma’ari and presents his disturbed soul it also presents his philosophy , beliefs and views to ward life and society according to the philosophical respect. It also shows the significance and content of the maxims and preachments through his asceticism and contemplation in the affairs of the Universe and that every thing is mortal in comparison to the eternity of "Allah" The Greatest of all. The stars and the planets have been the symbol and residence for his inspiration to reveal Al Ma'ari 's romanticism and his life experience , which he desribes in his collections of poetical works of Saket Al Zand and Al Lizoomiat.
