تستهدف تلك الدراسة، استقراء للمعنى التربوي والفلسفي العلمي من الاقتصاد المعرفي، موضحا للمفهوم، والأهمية، والسمات، والخصائص. ومبررات التوجه نحو الاقتصاد المعرفي وتحدياته حاضرا ومستقبلا، والتطرق إلى رصد لمتطلبات التعليم الجامعي والتحديات والرؤى العالمية والعربية الحالية والمستقبلية للتوجه نحو مجتمع المعرفة والاقتصاد المعرفي، وصولا لوضع رؤية مقترحة للمنظومة التعليمية للجامعة يستهدف مدخلات هذا النظام وعملياته ومخرجاته ضمن أطر علمية وعملية، تتصف بالواقعية وتتسم بالمرونة والديناميكية، للارتقاء بمستوى مخرجات التعليم العالي وبما يحقق الموائمة مع سوق العمل، واستجابة لاحتياجات التنمية العربية الشاملة، ومجاراة لتطورات العصر واللحاق بركب الحضارة والعالمية. وقد توصلت الدراسة لتصور في ثلاث سيناريوهات مستقبلية محتملة التطبيق، (للوفاء بمتطلبات التعليم الجامعي وتوجهه نحو الاقتصاد المعرفي) والسيناريوهات هي: (الامتدادي، والإصلاحي، والثوري). الأمر الذي من شأنه أن يسهم في مقترح يصور متطلبات المنظومة التعليمية للجامعات العربية تتجه نحو الاقتصاد المعرفي في ضوء رؤى عالمية مستقبلية \
