المستخلص: I have been Intersted in kadhim Al •hajaj's poetry for a long time. I have critically read and analyzed it to find out that Al - Hajaj is very distinguished in his resort to employ the mask especially in an era where a totalitarian tyranny adopted the policy of silencing people . breaking pens; . and cutting tongues which our poet long suffered from . However, political tyranny did not stop him short of criticizing reading in pursuit of solutions to resolve the contradictions he had to Iive with . i have long admired A I- Hajaj s poetry in the first place . Moreover, 1 have been profoundly touched by society . He has always called for radical changes . revolution . and unit) saying : Our village ... muster your children up Whoever they are Wherever they are Our village The glory of the pomegranate is The seeds ... Of the pomegranate The technique of the mask is regarded one of the prominent devices [hat disting¬uish Al- Hajaj‘s poetry . The mask functions as an out let through which the poet expresses his pent up emotions . pains and disappointment. The personal mask is specific to our poet for we think it to be a new technique . The poet relies heavily on the first type due to his being influenced by his cultural heritage and antecedent poets . Along the study , I try to recite as less as possible , a strategy that stems out of our belief that the majority of the masks analyzed are employed to treat one essential as such . They almost all criticize everyday reality with particular focus on political reality , Accordingly , I depend on one sample to exemplify each type conducting , thus, a brief study than a prolonged one ,
