This study entitled "The distinctive phonetic features of the satirized in Ibnurrumi's work" Deals with both the segmental and suprasegmental features in Ibnurrumi's works. Notably Ibnurrumi's satire reflects his personality and depicts his psychological reactions and his inner feelings. This fact has lead us to consult psychological resources that are helpfull for an analysis of Ibnurrumi with the most important reactions related to satire. Importantly, the nature of the study has required it to be composed of two chapters headed by a preliminary entitled "The distinctive features and the image of the satirized". Here, we have explained the theory of distinctive features that focuses on phoneme and the role of "Prague school" and "firth" the nature of satire in Ibnurrumi's work. This research is devoted to a statement of the distinctive features of the segmental phonemes in the image of the satirized. These are the features that distinguishes one sound from the other determined by their place of articulation, manner of articulation, tongue shape, a caustic features (vibration, frequency, sound waves) and binary features since every two segments can be distinguished by two features such as voiced/voiceless , and this research covers the syllabic prosodic features of the image of the satirized in Ibnurrumi’s works. By prosodic features, we have mean syllable, stress, length and tone which are known as suprasegmental. This chapter clarifies the nature of syllabitication with respect to quantity, opening and closure, strong and weakness. Due to the distinct effect exercised by syllable in showing stress, length and tone. Finally, we have listed the outstanding conclusions .drawn from the study
