المستخلص: This paper aimed at explaining grammatical, semantic, syntactic errors committed by tenth grade female students at Alkarak school for girls within Jordan. Students were asked to write an essay in the English language in addition to individual sentence. These were then turned in to the teacher who in turn gave them to the researcher. Students’ writings were read and reread by the researcher to spot the errors committed by them. Being a native speaker of Arabic the researcher easily spotted interlingual errors. She counted all the errors and categorized them into the different categories. Then an attempt to explain why they occurred took place which was then presented in the results section of this paper. The best recommendation to give to teachers at this points is that they can try to emphasize the differences between the two languages. Once teachers know the areas that students may commit errors in, they can first of all try to explain to the students these areas and then spend more time giving examples and emphasizing them in class continually. Perhaps this will lessen the amount of interlingua errors committed by Arabic speakers learning English as a foreign language.
