|b The study aimed at answering the following questions: \ 1-\ What are contemporary challenges and its negative impact on cultural identity? \ 2-\ What are the most important citizenship values needed to face the challenges of cultural identity? And what is the role of the college professor in developing them? \ 3-\ What is the reality of college professors' practices to develop citizenship values? \ 4-\ What are the mechanics and methods that can help the college professor do his role in developing citizenship values? \ The study depended on the descriptive method; a questionnaire was applied to fourth year students, Alexandria University to identify the reality of college professors' practices in developing citizenship values. \ The results of the study revealed a shortage in the college professors' role in developing citizenship values (belongingness, political awareness, tolerance, group work). In light of the results, the researcher presented a suggested perspective including the practices done by the college professor (mechanics related to vision and mission, mechanics related to students' activities, mechanics related to college climate, mechanics related to curriculum) besides mechanics related to the college professors' role in developing citizenship values.
