المستخلص: يرمي البحث إلى النظر في رؤية هيغل لطبيعة العلاقة بين الحرية والتاريخ، التي تكشف عن أن جدل الحرية والتاريخ هو في جوهره صيرورة تقدم الوعي الذاتي للروح بذاتها: أي بحريتها. وعن أن عملية تقدم الوعي تلك هي عملية ثقافية شاقة وطويلة، استغرق أمر تطبيقها كمبدأ في العلاقات السياسية_ والأخلاق الموضوعية ودساتير الدول ومن ثم إعادة تشكيل المجتمع وفقاً لذلك_التاريخ كله. عملية تعد هي والتاريخ شيئاً واحداً ذلك "أن تاريخ العالم ليس إلا عملية تقدم الوعي بالحرية "و"أن الحرية هي ماهية الروح وحقيقتها الوحيدة". وعلى مسار تقدم التاريخ تكافح الروح لكي تعي ذلك وتحققه. تجسدها على مراحله المختلفة الأرواح القومية للأمم والشعوب التاريخية بوصفها فرديات تاريخية، ليست في جوهرها سوى تميزات لعملية إنتاج الروح لذاتها ولعالمها. ولذلك العنصر العقلي الذي يضفي اتساقاً على المجرى العفوي للأحداث والوقائع. ويكشف عن أن التاريخ هو تجلٍ لصيرورة كفاح الروح من أجل امتلاك الحرية، وسلسلة من تشكيلاتها لذاتها ولعالمها، يمثل كل نمو خاص فيها درجة من درجات امتلاك الوعي والحرية، بحيث يأتي التعبير الكامل عن حقيقة امتلاك ذلك فعلاً في المرحلة الأخيرة التي يؤذن بها تقدم التاريخ البشري. وقد حد هيغل مراحل تاريخية كبرى ثلاثاً لكيفيات تقدم الوعي بالحرية، عرفت الروح في الأولى منها "العالم الشرقي" أن شخصاً واحداً حراً هو الإمبراطور، أو الحاكم المستبد، أو الفرعون الطاغية. وعرفت في المرحلة الثانية "العالم اليوناني_الروماني" أن بعضهم أحرار. وفي المرحلة الأخيرة "العالم الغربي" وصلت الروح إلى الوعي بأن الإنسان بما هو إنسان حر، وأن الحرية هي طبيعة الروح وغاية التاريخ.

The research gives an idea about Hegel's thinking about the relationship between freedom and history. This nature shows that the argument of freedom and history is in its essential core the process of developing the self awareness of the spirit on its own which means its freedom. In addition to that, it tells that the process of awareness developing is really Laborious, long and cultural and it has taken a long time to be practiced as a principle in the political relationship, objectives virtues and countries' laws, then Society has been reformulated accordingly. That process is considered as one thing as history. That is to say" The history of the world is only a process of the awareness developing of freedom," and" freedom is the nature of spirit and its unique truth". Moreover, on the rout of the development history, the spirit struggles to understand that and achieve it .Gradually, the national spirit of nations and the historical people embody it as being historical individuals. How ever, in their cores, they are only different or properties of the process of spirit's producing itself and its world according to the standard of its freedom's awareness, and that is the cognitive element that adds more on the natural occurrence of events and happenings, and reveals that history is the result of the struggle of the spirit for possessing freedom and a and chapters in its attempt to construct itself, each growth of the spirit is a degree its possession of awareness and freedom, where by the full expression of the of the reality of possessing. Comes with the final stage that the developing of human history permits. H egel defined the main three historical periods as to of how the awareness of freedom advanced. In the first period spirit was defined as (the oriental world) where there are only one free man and he is the emperor, or the tyrant ruler or the oppressing pharaoh. It was defined in the second period as (the Greek- Roman-World), that there are only few free people. Whereas in the final stage (the western world) spirit has reached to the awareness that human being his own is a free man, and freedom is the nature of spirit and the aim of history.
