هدف البحث إلى التعرف على حياة فضيلة الشيخ حمود بن حسن بن محسن الشغدلي، وتكون البحث من عدة عناصر، تناول العنصر الأول مولده ونشاته، فهو فضيلة الشيخ حمود بن حسين بن محسن الشغدلي، ولد في حائل سنة 1295هـ، ونشأ وترعرع مع والده وأخذ عنه حب العلم والاطلاع في أمور الدين. وناقش العنصر الثاني تعليمه ومعلميه، فقرأ القرآن على يد الشيخ مبارك بن عواد وأخذ الفقه والعقائد والفرائض على يد الشيخ صالح السالم، وأخذ قواعد النحو عن الشيخ عبد الكريم العبيدا والشيخ حمد بن فارس، وقد واصل الشيخ حمود مسيرته العلمية خارج منطقة حائل، فذهب إلى الرياض سنة 1326هـ ودرس على يد أعيان علمائها. ثم انتقل العنصر الثالث إلى عمله في القضاء حيث مارسه منذ عام 1343هـ حين طلب الأهالي من الملك عبد العزيز بن عبد الرحمن آل سعود أن يكون الشيخ حمود حسين نائبا عن الشيخ عبد الله بن بلهيد، ووُكِلَ قاضيا نيابة عن الشيخ بلهيد عندما كُلِفَ بالعمل بمكة المكرمة. وكشف العنصر الرابع عن تلامذته ومنهم الشيخ على الصالح السالم، والشيخ عبد الكريم الصالح السالم، والشيخ عبد العزيز العريفي. وأبرز العنصر الخامس مجالسه العلمية ومنها بيت الشيخ حسين بن صالح الشامي بعد صلاه الفجر كل يوم ما عدا يوم الجمعة. وأوضح العنصر السادس دراسته في الأزهر ومكتبته الخاصة. وأظهر العنصر السابع سعة اطلاعه واهتمامه الشعري. وتطرق العنصر الثامن إلى عالمية شهرته ومواقفه القضائية. وأشار العنصر التاسع إلى وفاته حيث توفى يوم 8 من ذي الحجة عام 1390هـ عن عمر يناهز 95 عاما. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The aim of the research is to identify the life of His Eminence Sheikh Hamoud Bin Hassan Bin Mohsen Al-Shaghdli. The research is composed of several elements. The first element dealt with his birth and his life. His Eminence is Sheikh Hamoud Bin Hassan Bin Mohsen Al-Shaghdli, he was born in Hail in 1295 AH and grew up with his father and followed his steps in the love of science and knowledge of the issues of religion. The second element discussed his education and his teachers. He read the Qur'an in front of Sheikh Mubarak Bin Awwad and took the jurisprudence, beliefs and requisites of Islam from Sheikh Saleh Al-Salem. He took the grammar rules from Sheikh Abdul-Karim Al-Obaida and Sheikh Hamad Bin Fares. Sheikh Hamoud continued his scientific career outside Hail, In 1326 AH, he went to Riyadh and studied by the help of its notability scholars. Then the third element addressed his work in the judiciary, where he practiced it since 1343 AH, when the people asked King Abdul Aziz Bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud to hire Sheikh Hamoud Hussein as deputy to Sheikh Abdullah Bin Bulhid, he was appointed a judge on behalf of Sheikh Bulhid when he was assigned to work in Makah. The fourth element revealed touched on his students, including Sheikh Ali Saleh Al Salem, Sheikh Abdul Karim Al Saleh Al Salem and Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al Arifi. The fifth element highlighted his scientific councils, including the house of Sheikh Hussein Bin Saleh Al-Shami after the dawn prayer (Fajr) every day except on Friday. The sixth element explained his studies at Al-Azhar and his private library. The seventh element addressed his knowledge and poetic interest. The eighth element referred to his universality fame and his judicial positions. The ninth element pointed to his death, where he died on the 8th of Dhu al-Hijjah in 1390 AH at the age of 95 years.
