The research aimed at highlighting the book of "Mu'jam al-Buldan" of Yaqout Al-Hamwi. The article also pointed out that it is a book that contains the names of countries, mountains, valleys, bottoms, villages, spots and homelands, seas, rivers, walls, fetishes, clans and idols. The article also pointed out that the book includes five chapters. The first chapter addressed the description of the land and what it contains of mountains, seas and so on. The second chapter mentioned the seven regions with their derivatives and the difference in their conditions. The third chapter is based on the interpretation of the terms that are repeated in this book. The fourth chapter is based on the sayings of the jurists on the rulings on the lands of the lands of prosperity and wealth and how to divide them. استهدف البحث تسليط الضوء على كتاب معجم البلدان لياقوت الحموي. كما أوضح المقال انه كتاب في أسماء البلدان، والجبال، والأودية، والقيعان، والقرى، والمحال والأوطان، والبحار، والأنهار، والغدران، والأصنام، والأنداد، والأوثان. كما أشار المقال إلى ان المعجم يتضمن خمسة أبواب جاء الباب الأول في صفة الأرض وما فيها من الجبال والبحار وغير ذلك، وعرض الباب الثاني ذكر الأقاليم السبعة واشتقاقها والاختلاف في كيفيتها، وارتكز الباب الثالث في تفسير الألفاظ التي يتكرر ذكرها في هذا الكتاب، وارتكز الباب الرابع في أقوال الفقهاء في أحكام أراضي الفيء والغنيمة وكيفية قسمة ذلك، وعرض الباب الخامس في جمل من أخبار البلدان. وتوصلت نتائج البحث إلى ان اعتمد الجغرافيون المسلمون على رحلاتهم الشخصية، وكان ياقوت الحموي من هؤلاء البلدانيين الذين جمعوا معلومات قيمة، وقد وضعها في مصنفة الجامع و"معجم البلدان" الذي يعد من اهم المصادر في بابه وأكثرها شهرة، وذلك لما تضمنه من مادة جغرافية وتاريخية وأدبية متنوعة. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
