إن التحولات العالمية أنتجت العديد من التغيرات على جميع المستويات حيث تم الاهتمام بكيفية تحقيق تنمية المجتمع، إذ عرفت التنمية تطور في طبيعة قيمتاً ومدلولها بغير الأوضاع والمتطلبات العصرية، ففي البدايات كان التركيز على هامش الربح، في حين في ظل تنامي الاهتمام بالفرد واعتباره هو وسيلة وهدف للتنمية تم التوجه نحو تنمية الإنسانية، وهذا ما أدى إلى طرح كيفية الحفاظ على هذه التنمية في ظل تعاقب الأجيال التي تختلف من مرحلة إلى أخرى، ومن جهة ظهور اختلافات في الرؤى والثقافات التي أنتجت تنوع ثقافي كبير التي تعبر عن أداة قيمية لإعادة تنظيم المجتمع وهذا ما يعزز من تفاعل ثقافات المجتمع واعتبارها الية جديد إيجابية في مجال الهندسة الاجتماعية تؤسس لتفعيل التنمية في كل المستويات حتى يتم يمكن تحقيق الاستدامة بين الأجيال، ولهذا تطرح إشكالية دراستنا كالتالي: إلى أي مدي يمكن تحقيق التنمية في بعدها المستدام في ظل التنوع الثقافي المجتمعي؟
