The aim of this study is to identify the reasons for the weakness of the students of Islamic Education specialization at Al- Qud Open University in mastering the skills of reading and reciting the Holy Quran, and to suggest a proposal for the treatment of those reasons from the students’ viewpoint of and faculty members. The researchers adopted a questionnaire as a tool for the study consisting of 31 items distributed on three main domains: student, faculty member, and courses. The questionnaire has been distributed on a random sample of male and female students from the University (253 students) , and a sample of faculty members (14) . The results showed that the main reasons for the weakness of students in mastering the skills of reading and reciting the Holy Quran from the students’ viewpoint are: lack of directions from faculty members to them, lack of emphasis from faculty members on the need to master the skills required, in addition to dealing with reciting and reading the Holy Quran as other courses, without taking into consideration the importance of this course, the assessment procedures of students are not commensurate with the nature of the course, and faculty members do not follow the development of students’ skills because of the large number of students in each class. The faculty members believed that the reasons for the weakness of students in the mastery of skills of reading and reciting the Holy Quran is lack of students’ practicing and that many jobs do not require these skills. Based on the results of the study, the researchers suggested a proposal for the treatment of those causes. They recommended the need for further studies in the field of reading and reciting of the Quran, utilizing all available resources to develop those skills, and incorporating the skills of reciting and reading in the classes in early stages of education.
هدفت الدراسة إلى الوقوف على أسباب ضعف طلبة تخصص تعليم التربية الإسلامية في جامعة القدس المفتوحة في مهارات تلاوة القرآن الكريم وتجويده، من وجهة نظر الطلبة وأعضاء هيئة التدريس . ومن ثم وضع برنامج مقترح لعلاجها. واعتمد الباحثون الاستبانة أداة للدراسة، وقد تكونت من (31) فقرة موزعة على ثلاثة محاور رئيسة، هي الطالب، وعضو هيئة التدريس، والمقررات الدراسية . وقد وزعت على عينة عشوائية من طلبة الجامعة قوامها (253) طالبا وطالبة، وعينة من أعضاء الهيئة التدريسية، قوامها (14) عضو هيئة تدريس، وقد أظهرت نتائج الدراسة أن أهم أسباب ضعف الطلبة في مهارات التلاوة والتجويد من وجهة نظر الطلبة يعود إلى قلة توجيه أعضاء هيئة التدريس للطلاب، وعدم تأكيدهم على ضرورة إتقان المهارات المطلوبة، إضافة إلى تعامل أعضاء هيئة التدريس مع مقرري التلاوة والتجويد كغيرهما من المقررات، دون مراعاة الخصوصية التي يتمتع بها هذان المقرران، كما أن إجراءات تقويم الطلبة لا تتناسب مع طبيعة المقررين، إضافة إلى أن أعضاء هيئة التدريس لا يتابعون تطور مهارات الطلبة أولا بأول، بسبب كثرة عدد الطلبة في الشعبة الواحدة . أما أعضاء هيئة التدريس، فقد أشاروا إلى أن أسباب ضعف الطلبة في إتقان مهارات التلاوة والتجويد تعود لضعف ممارسة الطلبة، وتطلع الطلبة لوظائف لا تتطلب هذه المهارات، وقلة توجيه أعضاء هيئة التدريس للطلبة، وتعامل أعضاء هيئة التدريس مع مقرري التلاوة والتجويد كغيرهما من المقررات الأخرى . واستنادا إلى نتائج الدراسة قام الباحثون ببناء تصور مقترح لعلاج تلك الأسباب، كما أوصوا بضرورة إجراء المزيد من الدراسات في مجال تلاوة القرآن الكريم وتجويده، واستثمار المصادر المتاحة كافة لتطوير تلك المهارات، إضافة إلى ضرورة إدراج مهارات التلاوة والتجويد في صفوف مراحل التعليم العام .
