المستخلص: This paper reviews some studies regarding the writing research in English that ii essential for university students and postgraduates. It focuses on research that investigates relationships between various pedagogical practices (e.g. rhetorical unit & grammatical choice). \\ This paper points to the lack of a unified sense of the FL. writing within the field of the FL. and also points to design flaws in much of the existing research. \\ This paper also explores errors in writing in relation to particular aspects of second language acquisition and theories of writing process in L2. It can be argued that a focus on the writing process as apedagocal tool is only appropriate for second language earner if attention is given to linguistic development, and if earners are able to get sufficient and effective feedback with regard to their errors in writing. It discusses some relevant factors associated with the current paper under seven cores: \\ 1-\\\ General writing process. \\ 2-\\\ Effects to grammar treatment. \\ 3-\\\ Computer use. \\ 4-\\\ Classroom reading/writing activities. \\ 5-\\\ Strategy use. \\ 6-\\\ Process instruction. \\ 7-\\\ Strategy instruction for improving writing and ended with some discussions and conclusions dealing with the results of that paper. \\ Finally, researchers should exercise caution in interpreting their results and offering explanations of their findings that are not in line with their ideas. \ It is also important for researchers to consider some broader questions ones raised throughout this review of work as indicated earlier.
