المستخلص: The study area with its huge tourism attractions is eligible and deserve to guide the process of sustainable tourism development in Saudi Arabia. Its tourism attractions could be seen in its cultural and natural resources, together with the availability of the tourism infrastructure and the natural security, which resulted in economic, cultural, social and environmental positive impacts to the benefit of the local community. The study constitutes a data base for the tourism development in the study area, in terms of achieving information on its cultural resources, natural resources and the available tourism infrastructure which could serve to lay the base for a national tourism strategy. The study depends on multi disciplinary approach, which includes the field survey that had been carried out in the area in February 2008, also the sustainable tourism strategy of the WTO (World Tourism Organization) of the 1993 has been adopted, in addition to that, the available published sources on the area has also been referred to.\
