المستخلص: هذا البحث يأتي لرد الشبهات والطعون عن حديث أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم مات ودرعه مرهون. وهو من الأحاديث التي حاول أعداء السنة التشكيك فيها، رغم وجوده في الصحيحين، وقد جاء فيه بيان أهمية الموضوع، وتعريف ببعض الألفاظ الواردة بعنوان البحث، ثم ذكر روايات الحديث، وبيان اسم اليهودي الذي رهن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم الدرع عنده، ثم الرد على الشبهات المثارة حول الحديث، التي تبين بطلانها، حيث إن الحديث في أعلى درجات الصحة، وروي عن أكثر من صحابي، والحديث ينسجم مع العقول السليمة، والشبهات المثارة حول الحديث لم يقل بها أحد من العلماء، وإنما أثارها من لا دراية لهم بعلم الحديث، وظهر أن هناك فوائد كثيرة مستفادة من هذا النوع من المعاملة؛ لذا أدرجه أهل الحديث في كتبهم، وشرحه الشارحون، وذكره الفقهاء في كتب الفقه.

This research has come to refute the doubts and accusations concerning the Hadeeth (narration) that the Prophet, prayers and peace be upon him, passed away whilst his shield was mortgaged. It is from among the Hadeeth which the enemies of the Sunnah attempt to create doubt about, despite its presence within the two most authentic collections of Hadeeth (Al-Bukhari and Muslim). The research included an explanation of the importance of the subject and defined some of the worded expressions mentioned in the title of the research. It then mentioned the various narrations of the Hadeeth and explained the name of the Jew who mortgaged his shield to the Prophet, prayers and peace be upon him. That was followed by a refutation of the doubts which have been stirred about the Hadeeth, which makes evident their falsity, in the case where the Hadeeth is of the highest levels of authenticity and was narrated by more than one companion. The Hadeeth is in harmony with the sound mind and the doubts raised about the Hadeeth had not been raised previously by any of the scholars. Rather, they were only raised by those who have no knowledge foundation in the area of the Hadeeth. It is also apparent that there are many hearts which benefit from this conduct and as such the scholars of Hadeeth placed it within their books (collections), the explainers explained its meaning and the scholars of jurisprudence mentioned it within their books of jurisprudence.
