المستخلص: This study proposes a fundamental question that deals with “to what extent Najeeb Alkaylani, the novelist, is able to achieve the formal and artistic scopes in his story collection “At Departure” in the manner that makes it an artistic piece of writing. The study also is concerned with Alkaylani’s ability in proposing his social problems as well as analyzing and remedying them in the Islamic realistic method frame, which is supposed t5o be followed by the writer. The study is based on a basic hypothesis which assumes that the optimistic and positive motives from one side and motion and change from the other side are the two motives that overwhelm the writer in his collection. The study tries to achieve its objectives through three axes:- First axis: At Departure. Second axis: Optimistic and positive motives through the story characters. Third axis: The study of the artistic form. The study followed the descriptive analytic method. \
