المستخلص: تناولت هذه الدراسة أثر المناخ على الثروة الحيوانية في منطقة الأغوار، واختصت بدراسة أربعة أنواع من قطاع الثروة الحيوانية لما لها أهمية كبيرة في المنطقة وهي الأغنام والماعز والأبقار والجمال، وهدفت الدراسة إلى توضيح أثر المناخ من خلال عناصره المختلفة كالإشعاع الشمسي ودرجات الحرارة والأمطار والرطوبة النسبية والرياح على تربية الحيوانات في منطقة الأغوار، وذلك لما تتمتع به من ظروف مُناخية شبه جافة لوقوعها في مناطق ظل المطر، وظروف طبوغرافية كشدة إنحدار السفوح الشرقية لجبال الضفة الغربية مما جعلها أراضي صالحة للرعي وتربية الثروة الحيوانية، وذلك في محاولة لتطوير إمكانيات الثروة الحيوانية، وظروف الإنتاج وإلقاء الضوء على أهم المشاكل والمعوقات التي يعاني منها قطاع الثروة الحيوانية في المنطقة، واعتمدت الدراسة على المنهج الإقليمي على اعتبار دراسة جزء من إقليم جغرافي متكامل، والمنهج الموضوعي والذي يتمثل موضوع المناخ التطبيقي، والمنهج التاريخي لدراسة التغير في عناصر المُناخ وتطور الثروة الحيوانية والنشاط الرعوي في منطقة الأغوار، وإتباع الأسلوب الكارتوجرافي والكمي والوصفي، وتوصلت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج التي يأمل الباحث أن تحقق شيء من الفائدة في سبيل تحقيق تنمية الثروة الحيوانية في المنطقة.

This research study addressed the impact of the climate upon livestock in the Jordan Valley region and it specifically selected to study four types of livestock due to their great importance in the region. These were sheep, goats, cows and camels. The study aimed to clarify the impact of different climatic elements like solar radiation, temperature, rainfall, humidity rate and winds, upon livestock raising in the Jordan Valley region. That is due to what it enjoys in terms of climatic conditions which are semi-arid due to its location in the rain-sheltered regions and topographical conditions like the sharply declining eastern slopes of the West Bank’s mountains, which makes the lands suitable for grazing and raising livestock. This is being undertaken in an attempt to develop the livestock potentials, the production conductions and shed light upon the most significant problems and obstacles which the livestock sector suffers from in the region. The study relied upon the regional approach, considering the study to be a part of the whole integrated geographical regional. It also adopted the objective represented in the subject of the applied climate, and the historical approach for studying the change of the climatic elements and the development of the livestock and grazing activity within the Jordan Valley region. The study also followed the cartography, quantitative and descriptive methods. The study reached a host of conclusions which the researcher hopes will realize some benefit in the way of achieving the development of livestock in the region.
