520		\|b This paper highlights on one of the most important types of fortifications in the Nubia region in general and the third cataract in particular, “Castle house”. The third cataract area is considered the most affluent areas fortifications dating back to different periods, especially the medieval period. It fortifications which did not find their share of the study. The advantage of this type of fortifications is that it has several administrative and security functions, and consists of stone, mud-brick and mud.
