استهدف البحث تقديم الموسوعة السياسية المعاصرة. وتمثلت هيكلة البحث على عدة نقاط هي مصداقية الانتخابات الرئاسية والنيابية في الأنظمة الديمقراطية حيث اعتبرت غانا مثال حي للديمقراطية مع سجلها في ستة انتخابات رئاسية سليمة وتحولها إلى الحكم المدني في 1992. كما عرض البحث وظائف وأبعاد التحالفات. وناقش أيضا ًالتحديات التي واجهت دول الربيع العربي بعد الثورات . كما عالج البحث نقاط الضعف والقوة في الدول المتوسطة. واختتم البحث بتوضيح الأسس التي تقوم عليها دبلوماسية الدول المتوسطة وهى الالتزام بتعدد الأطراف من خلال مؤسسات عالمية والتحالف مع مثيلاتها من الدول المتوسطة. ودرجة عالية من تغلغل المجتمع المدني في السياسة الخارجية . وأخيراً دولة تعكس وتشكل هويتها الوطنية من خلال سياسة خارجية قائمة على حفظ السلام والأمن الإنساني والمحكمة الجنائية الدولية وبروتوكول كيوتو. كما أشار البحث بأن الدول ذات النفوذ تتمتع بأهمية سياسية ودولية واحترام دولي متعلق ذلك بالتسلح والخوض في سباق السلاح النووي. كُتب هذا المستخلص من قِبل دار المنظومة 2018
The research aimed to present the contemporary political encyclopedia. The structure of the research consisted of several points: the credibility of the presidential and the parliamentary elections in the democratic system, where Ghana was considered a living example of the democracy with its record of six valid presidential elections and its transition to civilian government in 1992. The research also presented the functions and the dimensions of the alliances. It also discussed the challenges facing the Arab Spring countries after the revolutions. The research also addressed the strengths and the weaknesses of the middle countries. The study concluded by clarifying the foundations of the medium-state diplomacy, namely, the commitment to the multilateralism through the international institutions, the alliance with other middle-class countries, a high degree of civil society penetration in the foreign policy, and finally a State that reflects and shapes its national identity through a foreign policy which is based on the peacekeeping, the human security, the International Criminal Court and the Kyoto Protocol.
