هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى بحث إدمان الإنترنت وعلاقته بسمات الشخصية المرضية، والفروق وفقا لمتغيري الجنس والمرحلة النمائية لدى الأطفال والمراهقين. وقد تكونت العينة من 351 طالبا (167 ذكور، 184 إناث) من مدارس مدينة حلب، في الصفوف 4-5-6 (متوسط العمر 11.6)، والصفوف 7-8-9 (متوسط العمر 13.9). وقد استخدمت أداتين: مقياس إدمان الإنترنت، ومقياس التحليل الإكلينيكي لقياس السمات اللاسوية للشخصية. وقد أظهرت النتائج وجود علاقة دالة إحصائيا بين إدمان الإنترنت، وكل من: توهم المرض، التهيج أو الاستثارة، القلق الاكتئابي، الاكتئاب منخفض الطاقة، الملل والانسحاب، مشاعر الذنب والاستياء والانحراف السيكوباثي والوهن النفسي وعدم الكفاية النفسية. في حين كانت العلاقة غير دالة إحصائيا مع كل من: الفصام، والبارنويا، والاكتئاب الانتحاري. وقد تبين وجود فروق دالة إحصائيا بين الذكور والإناث في إدمان الإنترنت لصالح الذكور، وفروقا دالة إحصائيا بين الأطفال والمراهقين لصالح المراهقين.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the relationship between Internet addiction and symptomatic personality traits, gender, and developmental stage among a sample of children and adolescents in Aleppo City. The sample was selected from elementary schools in Aleppo for the 4th, 5th, 6th, grades of children (M=11.6), and 7th, 8th, 9th grades of adolescents (M=13.9), and gender (males and females). The sample size was (351) students (167 males, 184 females). The tools of the study was: Internet Addiction Scale, and the Clinical Analysis Scale for assessing the symptomatic personality traits. The results of the study revealed that there is relationship between internet addiction and: hypochondriasis, agitation, anxiety depression, low energy depression, boredom and withdrawal, guilt and resentment, psychopathic deviation, psychosthenia, and Psychological inadequacy. While there was no significant correlation between internet addiction and: schizophrenia, paranoia and suicidal depression. On the other hand, the results indicated significant differences between males and female in internet addiction (among males higher than females), and between children and adolescents (among adolescents higher than among children).
