المستخلص: Modernization hassles are basically the spawns of western thought. Thus, these concepts that western intellectuals conceptualized are the result of reality has become the reference and benchmark for thought and morality. By contrast, the Arab world considers the present reality as a crisis and thus it is an unacceptable reality that should be substituted with a new one. This duality makes the Arab world caught between an imposed western modernity upon which we feel suspicious, and an unaccepted reality embodied in the decay and underdevelopment. This problematic poses a historical problem, the answer of which is controversies and conflicts of today. The present paper tries to shed light on Arab renaissance in the precious two centuries the which witnessed the effort to resume the Arab Islamic civilization with the presence of the unforeseen west, with all its conceptualization and trends. It is very likely that the failures of Arab modernization is a failure to balance authentic Arab Islamic renaissance with a modern look.
